Social Responsibility
SCHUMACHER believes that social values and sustainability, both within and beyond the company, are driving forces for creating a better world. As social and cultural responsibility are a vast issue, and charity is equally complex, SCHUMACHER decided to represent its diversified nature in a special way. Proceeds from the sale of sample pieces from the Friends’ Boutique are donated to a variety of projects that have been proposed by employees.

Our Charity Bags

The SCHUMACHER charity bags are unique pieces designed with loving detail for very special partners and exceptional events. Whether at a store opening or cultural event, the proceeds from the bags always go to a project SCHUMACHER holds dear to its heart.

We love charity! And we love the Square City! The canvas bag featuring images of Mannheim pays homage to the town that hosts SCHUMACHER’s headquarters. All proceeds from the limited-edition shopping bag will go to the film about the New Mannheim Ring, a project by the Nationaltheater Mannheim, a long-standing friend of SCHUMACHER with whom the label had worked on numerous occasions. In May 2012, the project was supported with a Friends’ Bazaar. Together with good friends, SCHUMACHER invited people to stroll around the premises and browse the brightly coloured stalls. The centrepiece of the charity event was the sale of raffle tickets with fantastic prizes to support the Nationaltheater.
Children's Hospice Sterntaler

Another project that lies close to the heart of SCHUMACHER is the Mannheimer Förderverein Kinderhospiz Sterntaler e. V, which is dedicated to accompanying seriously and terminally ill children and their families on their difficult journey. With the children’s hospice, which was completed in 2009, the charity aims to offer those affected a small oasis of calm where they can come and benefit from spending time together.

Capricorn Foundation

The first 'Friends' Donation’ was suggested by the Art Direction and is awarded to the Capricorn Foundation. The organisation has been devoting itself for many years to charitable projects for children of parents who are HIV infected or suffering from AIDS in Africa’s poorest nations. With this organisation’s help, SCHUMACHER is supporting the 'Menino Jesus’ girls’ orphanage in Mozambique, and hopes to be able to offer these girls a better quality of life.
